Perspectives on B2B storytelling, Video Production and Brand Building.

Most Manufacturing companies today are operating at an incredibly high level in terms of capability, scale & execution.

The challenge is that their digital presence often evolves much slower than the business itself, creating a gap between who they are today and how they’re being perceived by buyers online.

Over time, a few blind spots tend to emerge that influence perception more than expected. Recognising these marketing blind spots is often the first step toward a digital presence that actually reflects their brilliance.

Here are a few patterns we keep seeing in our early conversations with companies in the manufacturing space.

Our USP is quality

Every manufacturer believes that what sets them apart is quality, reliability and values. But these are capabilities, not differentiators. Every competitor claims them, so they don't help a buyer choose you.

Positioning comes from specifics: Timelines, tolerance, project size, failure rates. The more precise you are, the easier it is to understand, and trust, what you actually offer.

This has worked for us for years, so we will just continue

It is hard to walk away from familiarity of existing methods and mode of operations, but over time, by consistently choosing what feels safe over what could be better the brand never gets to see what stronger storytelling or strategy could do for their business.

We are manufacturing, we don't need social media

Even though it is 2026, social content is still treated as an afterthought rather than a serious marketing touchpoint.

Google now indexes social content. When prospects research your company, they are not just finding your website, they are looking at your linkedin posts, your tweets, even your instagram updates. If they find nothing recent or relevant, they tend to form an opinion and move on.

We are using our old video for outreach

Most corporate films are usually a surface level coverage of the factory floor, with no real story or point of view. they don't answer the only question that matters, which is, why should someone choose you?

The bigger issue is that while your business has likely evolved, your film has not. In a market where buyers are already comparing options online, your corporate film shot in 2016 is outdated - and most likely actively working against you.

We just need to post more consistently

A lot of companies assume that if they post often enough, marketing will eventually start working. So the focus becomes calendar driven content that fills slots without fulfilling any purpose - posting on festive days, et al.

The question was never how often you post. It is whether what you post reflects a clear point of view, real expertise or a deeper understanding of the industry you operate in.
